Made famous during the time France faced coffee shortage, this coffee substitute made its mark in New Orleans, where I first heard of it long ago.
Since coffee is an ever evolving industry, the idea of combining coffee and chicory didn’t take long to materialize. The traits of both coffee and chicory are highly complementary, so combining the two gives you a strong and smooth coffee… not to mention tasty!
Coffee purists (like some of my kids) may still prefer their straight coffee. But for those open to new tastes, at the very least, it’s worth a try!
